“Annual General Meeting” 11 MAY 2019- Update 2
I sincerely apologies for the lateness of this message concerning the AGM SCHEDULED FOR 1 PM Saturday 11 May 2019.
I also apologies for the “Secrecy” and reference to an unpleasant event. All of this, due to a proposed agenda received from Rob Cloete yesterday which closed the loop of bribery and secret planning to overturn the established system of Old Boy management. This may need to happen but in an organized way. Unlike the chaos as expressed by Alan Foster.
Hi Basil and Wally,
I trust that you are both well……
I would like to send my proxy vote in support but unfortunately I have no idea what the issue/s is/are? I’m sure I’m not alone here…
Is it possible to give those of us that are not aware a brief precise of the reason for this special AGM please?
Thanks and kind regards
It is clear you are not alone. We believe many proxy votes have been received by Basil, as for the Potch Old Boys office, we have not received Proxy votes. For me it is important for Old Boys to attend the AGM and then cast their votes.
All basically caused when Basil Kletz openly and rudely refused to except my suggestion that “he perhaps should have discussed with me that he was introducing a full service of Remembrance, with a minister, into a carefully planned afternoon before the Armistice Service “with the setting of the sun” on the Armistice Service November 2018.
I believe Geoff has more on this and will present at the AGM.
Although it may be an emotional meeting. I cannot finish a lifetime of dedication to the Old Boys and not be able to conduct and chair my last meeting
All the expressions of good will I have received from many would then have no meaning.
I can promise you however we have a wonderful group of post 94 Old Boys who are passionate about College and its future.
I hope this brief explanation will make things clear for those Old Boys reading the Newsletter.
We will do our best to explain all queries at the AGM.
Remember: The Rev. Dr. J.B Webb
In 1955 The Rev. J. B Webb (OM) on the occasion of the schools 50th Anniversary, said, “Potchefstroom College for Boys has made its impact upon the life of this country and beyond its borders. It has provided leadership in many spheres of public life, and it has sent forth thousands of young men whose names will never appear in any scroll of fame, but who did learn how to live and how to maintain the decencies and fidelities without which life is but a shambles”.
May the spirit of the school continue to convince succeeding generations that: “Justorum Semita Lux Splendens”
(The Path of the Just is a shining Light)
